RECONMATIC  in the Czech Researchers' Night 2024

The annual Czech Europeans Researchers’ Night, when the doors of scientific and research institutes in Europe are opened to the public to see how science helps to transform our daily lives, is every year a moment when everyone can look behind the curtain of scientist´s world and learn a bit more about new findings, exciting technologies or simply explanations of truths about our planet.

The RECONMATIC partners are proud to announce that we were again part of and shared our new findings about circularity in the construction section focusing this year more on explaining how old “things” can be transformed to new by recycling or creating digital twins. The event at the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) was as the previous year, organized together with several faculties and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics. This year, the event takes place on September 27, 2024, time 5-10 PM. Just a day before one of the most important national holidays of the Czech Republic.

Across the disciplines of Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague, RECONMATIC has prepared a program for adults and children in the spirit of this year’s theme: "Transformation".

To use the official explanation of the general organisers of the Czech event, the basic variable of the world is transformation. From evolution in nature to revolution in technology. Everything around us goes through its transformation and development. Let's therefore turn one night of the year into a unique celebration of science together!

Lectures by the RECONMATIC team

27.9.2024, 19:00 - 20:00

Turning a road into a road - how asphalt becomes asphalt again

Each of us uses them quite often and often swears when we have to avoid potholes - our roads. The reality of why this is so is more complex than our wish for black to be good.

In this lecture, however, instead of the reasons for the often worse condition of the roads, we focused on the possibilities that we technically have today, which we further develop and realistically use in an effort to recycle or reuse the materials of the original road as much as possible.

At the same time, in addition to the black color, above all, better quality must be guaranteed. What may surprise the visitor is that after glass and steel, the asphalt mixture is the next best reusable material.

27.9.2024, 20:00 - 21:00
The Transformation of a Building Scan into a Digital Twin

In the lecture, the RECONMATIC partners presented  the development of technologies enabling the transformation of a building into a digital twin, starting with a simple scan.

We focused on why modeling buildings for the future is essential, especially when promoting sustainability and the circular economy.

In addition, we delved into cutting-edge tools such as artificial intelligence to speed up and streamline the process.

Synergies

The aspiration of RECONMATIC participating in this event is to emphasize the importance of recycling and reusing construction materials and demonstrate how the RECONMATIC project advances the state-of-the-art in construction waste management through digital tools to achieve a more sustainable and circular construction sector.
